Children suffer with different types of diseases. Main reason is that inadequate knowledge regarding the health and unaware about the healthy behaviours. The study was to assess the effect of planned teaching programme on knowledge regarding health behaviour among school children in a selected school at Pathanamthitta district. The objectives of the study were the assessment of the level of knowledge of school children regarding health behaviour, provide planned teaching programme regarding health behaviour, assess the effect of planned teaching programme on health behavior and find the association between selected baseline variables and pre test knowledge scores. In the present study one group pre test post test design was used. The sampling technique used was cluster sampling. The tool was developed and the content validity and reliability of the tool were assessed. Pilot study conducted. Immediately after the pre test planned teaching programme was administered. After 5 days post test was conducted using the same questionnaire. The findings showed that there was a significant improvement in the post test knowledge level of school children. The t value was 65.225 which were significant at 0.01 level.
